ABERGAVENNY Town remain the only unbeaten side in Division One following their win over the only other unbeaten side - Marshfield.

Marshfield arrived at Pen-y-Pound on the back of a tremendous run in the Welsh Cup losing out only to former WPL side Afan Lido, and with some Goliaths in their defence it was easy to see why.

Missing prolific marksman, Dean Morgan and key midfielder Craig Norman, Town knew they had a tough task on their hands. What looks on paper to be a narrow win, could easily have been a rout for Town as they spurned chance after chance.

As it was, it was left to Aaron Norman to seal the points when he lobbed goalkeeper Sharpe, after 21 minutes, with a wonder strike from 25 yards with the outside of his boot.

Tom Indge, Town's 'keeper was smartly into action half way through the second half but this was the only real threat Marshfield offered, as Town opened up a 15 point lead at the top of the table. On Saturday, Town are away at Cwmbran Town (2.00pm).
