TOWN edged out as winners in their local derby against Blaenavon Blues despite falling behind after 20 minutes.

It took a Jamie Laurent penalty five minutes before the break to level the scores, and Dan Jenkins got what proved to be the winning goal two minutes after the re-start.

On Saturday Town travel to the neutral venue of Caersws FC to take on the runaway leaders of the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Football League, Holywell Town, in the semi-final of the FAW Trophy. Kick off is 2.30pm.

Town know they have a tough task on their hands as in many people's eyes, Holywell are the favourites to lift the Trophy.

Two coaches leave Pen-y-Pound at 10am on Saturday and some seats are still available as Town, who are the only south Wales club left in the competition, fly the flag for not only Abergavenny, but Monmouthshire and South Wales.
