SAM Warburton will be paying a visit to The Abergavenny Bookshop this month for a signing of his new book, 'Lions Triumphant, The Captain's Story'.
The signing will take place on December 11 as part of the 25-year-old rugby union player's promotional tour for the book, which gives an insight into the Lions preparations ahead of one of their greatest achievements.
The event follows the announcement that The Abergavenny Bookshop is soon to close, due to the competition of large companies.
Manager Brian Hughes, who has been in the book trade for 33 years, said, "We just can't compete with big companies and now there are also things like Kindles and tablets which means a further decline in selling books."
The store hopes to keep going on a short lease until at least after Christmas.
Brian added, "I've tried very hard to to keep the shop going, but I can't see us surviving much longer. We are just thankful that we have the opportunity to have someone like Sam Warburton come to support our store in its final days, and hope we can attract some people to think of us instead of places like Amazon when buying books."
