Abergavenny Squash Club’s ‘E’ team achieved a first, beating an opponent by five matches to nil! The team in question was one of the Monmouth sides, who only managed to get three sets across the entire match. As a result, the team remain in third place, and is pulling away from the sides below them.

On the following night, the ‘B’ team visited Penybont, and had a thumping 5-0 victory. All the players had convincing wins, with only Mike Logan dropping a set. The team have now moved up one place into second spot, and it is now becoming a serious contender for promotion.

The ‘C’ team completed an important 3-2 victory over the bottom side in the league, Caldicot ‘A’ and thus moved up two places into fifth. The match was extremely close, and ultimately hinged upon the match played by Mitchell Lawrence, who came back from 2-1 down to win in five sets. In this form, the team will be able to pull clear from the relegation zone, but there are some tough matches ahead.
