WHEN Chronicle lensman Tim Evans was stalking his way through Bailey Park on Saturday afternoon in search of some local wildlife to snap, he found something a little different from the elusive white squirrel he had been hunting for many a moon.
Smack bang in the park’s bandstand taking shelter from the elements prior to their big game against Tredegar Ironsides were the lads from Abergavenny RFC.
So what’s any press photographer who’s worth his salt to do when bushwhacked by a gang of egg-chasers? Why they take a group pic of course, for pride and for posterity.
As Tim explained, “As team shots go it’s an unusual one in an unusual setting but it’s definitely one for the family album. And the good news is I’ve been invited back next week to take the official shots of this season’s first and second teams.”
So there we have it, every cloud does indeed have a silver lining.
