Crickhowell RFC- 5

Whiteheads RFC - 24

IN their last game before Xmas, Crickhowell RFC found themselves with a hill to climb when they took on Whiteheads RFC.

Despite Crickhowell’s best efforts at defence, Whiteheads managed to find a way through and the the visitors managed to notch up three tries, two of which were converted, in the first half, leaving the home team 19 points adrift.

Some missed passes hampered Crickhowell’s ability to construct any meaningful attacking play.

The half-time talk from coach Gareth Bowen, however, spurred them on to a better performance in the final 40.

When the visitors were reduced to 14 men following the sin-binning of one of their props, Crickhowell made full use of the opportunity to score a try of their own.

Whiteheads were unable to maintain their try-scoring skills until late into the game when, against the run of play, they managed to secure their bonus point.

The match ball was again sponsored by Alan Jones.

The next League fixture for Crickhowell is on December 30 when they are away to Beaufort.

The traditional Past v Present game is scheduled for Boxing Day with a midday kick-off.
