MARDY are through to the semi-finals of the Langdon Cup after delivering a scorching second-half performance in their home game against Tranch.
After the visitors took the early advantage and went 3-1 up in the first-half, it looked likely that a certain defeat was on the cards for Mardy. However, fortune favours the brave, and the home team stepped it up a gear in the last 45 minutes to seize the victory and earn themselves a semi-final spot.
Strikes for Mardy came from a brace by Matthew Price, and one apiece from Jordan Banfield and Jonathan Thomas.
Match of the Day in Gwent Central Division One was the tussle between Usk Town and third-placed outfit Llanarth.
Going into the interval, Llanarth led 1-2 courtesy of a brace by Gavin Phillips. Usk Town's goal came from Rhodri Williams.
In the second-half Gavin Phillips completed his hat-trick for Llanarth, but back bounced Usk through Daniel Jones and Will Barton, who scored in the 89th minute, to end a smashing game of football all square at 3-3.

As a consequence of Saturday's result, Llanarth keep third position and Usk Town drop to second, one point below new league leaders Pandy.
After borrowing six players from their 'B' team, Pandy were pumped up and primed for their away match at Crickhowell, who they beat 1-3.
Goals for Pandy came from Steve Hollingworth, Mark Hughes, plus a Mike Smith penalty goal.
O|wain Jones scored the consolation goal for Crickhowell.
Man of the match for Crickhowell was Geraint King.
Man of the match for Pandy was Steve Wedlock.
Govilon suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Fairfield Utd, after Russell Williams (2), Glen Rees and Jordan White all conspired to do the damage.
Both Govilon goals were scored by Aaron Marfell.
Man of the match for Govilon was Ellis Jones.
The local derby match between Clydach Wasps and Gilwern and District finished honours even at 3-3.
Kieran Shevlin put Gilwern 0-1 up after 11 minutes when he scored directly from a corner. Luke Welsh equalised for the Wasps, but Adam Carrington ensured Gilwern went into the interval with the lead when he scored off a Kieran Shevlin corner to make it 1-2.
Into the second-half and Clydach put on their scoring shoes and netted two goals in the space of five minutes through Jack Thomas and Kyle Cheshire to put themselves 3-2 in front.
Keeping their heads up, Gilwern scored the equaliser through substitute Craig Morgan in the 70th minute.
Man of the match for Clydach Wasps was Kyle Cheshire.
Man of the match for Gilwern and District was Adam Carrington.
Llanfoist paid a visit to PILCS and came away with a 3-1 defeat for their troubles. The home-side scored through Rhys Moreton, Nathan Murphy, plus a Mike Murton penalty.
Carl James scored the Llanfoist goal. Man of the match for Llanfoist was Kanisorn Janruntri.
Match of the day in Division Two was the clash between second-placed side Cwmffrwdoer and current leaders Presoced.
Despite ending 0-0 when the final whistle blew, the game was a thriller from the first kick to the last.
Man of the match for Prescoed was Brian Showdry.
