THE Blaenavon Blues traveled to Risca United's Ty Isaf Park to face AC Pontymister in their final away fixture of the season and picked up a valuable three points to ensure they are safe from relegation.

Youngster Dylan Mason proved again that he's an accomplished goal scorer finding the net twice, to take his total to 10 in five league games.

Pontymister took the lead mid way through the first half when the Blues failed to deal with a corner as the home side forced the ball home. Mason got the Blues back on level terms with a cool finish.

The Blues dominated the second half playing down the slope, and Darren Harris found himself in space in the box and his shot was well saved by the home keeper. From the resultant corner the ball fell to Harris on the edge of the box as the big defender fired his side into a 1-2 lead.

Mason soon made it 1-3 when he found himself in on goal as he clinically finished. The Blues wrapped the game up when substitute Lee Penry skillfully beat three defenders to beat the Veteran Steve White worked hard for his side up front along side Mason, And Matthew Burns gave his all playing on the right side of midfield. Jamie Brankley was again the pick of the Blues players with his tackling in the centre of the park.
