THE Gwent Central League would like to remind everyone that alcohol consumption at football fixtures will not be tolerated.
During the first few months of the 2012/13 season there have been numerous incidents of alcohol consumption at matches.
The Gwent Central League decided at a committee meeting held on January 3 to enforce Gwent County FA Rule 33a which states that alcohol must not be consumed outside licensed premises or around the field of play.
If alcohol is seen to be consumed at a football game, the referee should be informed of the situation and if he is unable to remove the offenders, the match will be abandoned.
A league spokesperson said, "With the help and support of clubs and refs we can control this situation before it gets out of hand."
