MARDY AFC Chairman Malcolm 'Macky' Skinner received a surprise visit on Tuesday morning by representatives from The Welsh Football Trust who wanted to award him with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Macky who is starting his 51st season with Mardy AFC, where he has undertaken nearly every role possible within the club, has been handpicked by a select panel of judges to receive one of the prestigious Welsh Community Football Awards, which aims to recognize and reward the people and clubs that are driving grassroots football in Wales. Macky told the Chronicle, "I'm in a bit of a shock about it all to be honest. When they contacted me the night before to tell be they were going to be presenting me with an award the next day, I thought it was some kind of hoax, but as it turns out it wasn't, and it's a real honour."
