PAUL Spooner added another success to his rally victories last weekend, when co-driving for Steve Perez, the crew won the Rainworth Dukeries Rally - the fifth round of this years REIS BTRDA Gravel Rally Championship. Perez and Spooner brought their Ford Focus WRC home 29 seconds ahead of Stephen Petch and Ian Windress in a Ford Fiesta R5+. Jamie Anderson and Chris Brooks were third in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9, a further 59 seconds behind Petch. Perez and Spooner set six fastest stage times out of nine amid the torrential rain in the Sherwood forest area of Nottingham. Spooner from Raglan is currently sixth overall in the championship for co-drivers. Pontypool crew Sean Edwards and Gavin Haycock finished twenty seventh overall and sixth in class in their Rallyweld backed Ford Escort.
