ON Monday, 25 Seniors from Alice Springs GC took part in the annual St. David's Day golf competition.
The weather was fine after a wet start, but conditions underfoot were still wet and muddy. However some good scores were returned in a Stableford competition.
The winners were:-
1st. John Blakeburn, 36 points
2nd. Barrie Turner, 35 points
3rd. Roger Jones, 33 points
Nearest the Pin winners were:-
12th. hole: Martin Davies
14th. hole: Roger Jones
This is the third year in a row that John Blakeburn has won the St. David's Day competition, and he hinted that he may want to keep the trophy permanently.
After the golf everyone enjoyed a meal of cawl, lamb shank, and apple crumble.
