Coed Eva - 1
Govilon 6
GOVILON returned to winning ways after their mid-week 3-1 reversal at the hands of Panteg, but saw their hosts take an early lead before they got into gear.
It was Jake Heckles who brought Govilon level, dribbling in to the box and defying the poor surface before rounding Coed Eva's 'keeper, Jonathan Morgan and firing into an empty net.
Dean Morgan pushed Govilon into the lead when, like Heckles, he took on the Coed Eva defence in the box and rode two heavy challenges before slipping the ball under Morgan's body from close range.
Colin Morgan added Govilon's third, stooping low to meet Nathan Davies' right wing cross and heading past Morgan.
In the second half, Govilon were getting to grips with the long grass which covered Cwmbran Park with the game developing into one-way traffic, and when Dean Morgan battled his way into the box he squared the ball for Jake Heckles to fire home from five metres.
Coed Eva's defence had no answer to Morgan who by now was rampant, and when he outstripped the defenders he was able to complete a fine solo effort as he netted Govilon's fifth.
The goal of the game was held back until last and came when Jamie Laurent was set free, and from the edge of the box he curled the ball into the top left hand corner of Morgan's goal.
Govilon travel to league leaders Pill FC tonight (Thursday 6pm), and on Saturday travel again, this time to AC Pontymister (3pm).
