CLYDACH Wasps finally got off the mark with a 2-2 draw at high-flying Abertillery Bluebirds on Saturday, Owen Vaughan putting them in front on eight minutes before Lloyd Smith rescued their first Gwent Premier top tier point three minutes from time.

Brynmawr United went clear at the top of GP1 with two thumping wins, 6-0 at home to Alway in midweek before a 4-0 derby triumph at Nantyglo on Saturday.

Charlie Davies and Josh Lloyd fired braces and Rob McKenzie and Liam Davies one apiece in the midweek mauling, while the Davies duo each scored at Glo, alongside Jack Williams and Jordan Jones.

Elsewhere Usk Town secured a point with a 1-1 midweek home draw with Riverside in midweek, Oliver Rudall levelling five minutes from time, but remain bottom after a 2-0 home reverse to leaders Rassau & Oak on Saturday.

But Crickhowell are up to third after a 2-0 midweek win over Pontnewynydd, the goals coming right at the start and end of the first half.

The 2nds also won 3-1 at home to Penygarn & Trevethin on Saturday for a first win in Gwent Central One, Jordan Wright, Alun Jones and Luc Samuel their scorers.

But Llanarth fell to a 3-1 midweek loss at Tranch, Kyle Baldwin with a 71st minute consolation from the penalty spot.

Usk 2nds were tonked 6-0 away to Tranch 2nds in GC2 on Saturday, while Forgeside 2nds were pummeled 13-1 away to Pontnewynydd 2nds, Adam Barber with their only goal.

But reformed Raglan Juniors continued their winning start to life in East Gwent 2 with a 5-1 Saturday home win over Tintern Abbey, Larsson Brown with a brace, backed by strikes from Kiearn Knight, Simon Clarkson and Thomas Badham.
