RUMOURS were rife on the weekend that Abergavenny Town had signed a new player in the form of former Manchester United winger and England international Lee Sharpe.

But after the Twitter storm had blown over and the dust settled, it was revealed that the Red Devil was merely in town to give a well received talk at the Pen-y-Pound club house.
