AN in-form Feeley fired home an impressive hat-trick in the second-half to win the day for Abergavenny Town in their clash against Aberdare.

Town started well but slowly Aberdare crept into the game and began to dominate as the visitors’ midfield found it difficult to cope.

Twenty minutes in and Seb Haggett lobbed the ball over Tom Indge to give the home team an advantage which remained the only goal of the first-half.

The second 45 minutes was a different affair.Town drew level ten minutes in, when Sean Feeley latched onto a long ball and rounded the keeper before coolly slotting home.

Town were visibly buoyed and began to boss the game. Sean Feeley got the all-important third goal of the game. Despite slipping in the box he had the presence of mind to prod the ball into the net when it rebounded off the post.

Town made sure of the points five minutes from time. Aberdare’s defence fell apart and Feeley causally slotted home to complete his hat-trick. Town play the second of three consecutive Friday night fixtures tomorrow when they travel to Aberbargoed Buds (7.30pm).

Meanwhile back at Pen-y-Pound last Saturday, Town’s reserve side became only the second side this season to take points off Croesyceiliog. Toby Jones, Ross Stokes and Sam Jones all scored to give Town a thrilling 3-2 victory which sees them climb to third in the table. This Saturday they are home to local rivals Panteg. (2.00pm).
