Abergavenny Town Girls Under 13s unfortunately lost their top of the table clash with Barry Town 1-3 on Sunday.
Although the girls played some good football and battled hard, they just did not get the rub of the green on the day.
Attackers Gracie Grosvenor, Eleri Jones, Meg Welford and Carys Pond created a number of good chances, but between the Barry keeper and the crossbar, the ball would not cross the line.
Midfielders Mia Sherrard, Sophie Engel, Bella Wilce and Chelleter Graham-Sawyers all played well and assisted their front players with some decent play.
Defenders Cristyn Powell and Bobbi Allcock both stuck to their tasks and assisted Keeper Katie Barker when called into action.
The girls will all be disappointed with the three goals conceded as they were all avoidable, but it was just one of those games, where Aber didn’t get the break they deserved. Eleri Jones netted the goal for Aber.
The girls will now pick themselves up and get ready for next weeks trip to Abertillery.
