USK Cricket Club will host the Newport Gwent Dragons regional rugby side this Sunday in a charity Twenty20 cricket match.
All proceeds from the game will go to Usk CC's chosen charities LMBBS and St David's Foundation Hospice Care.
The Dragons side will be co-captained by Pat Leach and Joe Bedford, both of who are keen cricketers, and they have assembled a squad that are due to hit the nets this week in preparation for Sunday afternoon's big match.
The squad includes the likes of Adam Hughes, Lewis Evans and Ashley Smith who are all keen to rack up a few runs on Sunday.
Ahead of the match the Dragons' Pat Leach said, "The boys are really keen to go out, give a decent showing and entertain the crowd. We don't have tactics as such, it's a bit of fun really - we will be going for the win though. We're just hoping they don't put out their first team!"
Co-captain Joe Bedford echoed Pat's thoughts, "They are two great causes we are raising money for so make sure you come down and watch – anything could happen!" said Bedford. "We might not be seasoned cricketers but we are definitely taking it seriously, we're doing some nets on Thursday and we've even had our own shirts made especially for the occasion. I'm sure it'll be a fun day for everyone."
Usk Cricket Club Chairman Mike Kear also encouraged people to come along and support both sides. "It should be a great day's entertainment with the T20 match being the obvious highlight. It's a real family day with things going for the kids to enjoy as well."
"We are hoping that with the support base that the Dragons have we will be able to get a big crowd up on Sunday to support two very worthy causes which the club have personal attachments to. I'm not sure our boys fancy a return game at Rodney Parade though so I hope that's not what they're expecting!"
The match itself starts at Usk Cricket Ground 3pm and there will be entertainment throughout the day with a BBQ, Bar and live music into the evening. The match will be preceded by an Usk junior cricketers match at noon and a number of the Dragons rugby squad who aren't involved in the playing side will also be there to support their side.
Entry is £3 for adults and £1 for children and promises to be a great day out for the whole family.
