ON a not so sunny day at Kingsland, Talybont-on-Usk won their seventh successive match with another huge winning margin of 183 runs over basement side Luctonians.
And with Hay losing, Wormelow leapfrogged them to go second, but still 27 points behind the Bont.
On losing the toss, Bont were asked to bat and skipper Dan Bowen (14) and Martin Hurst (34) put on 37 for the first wicket before Bowen was bowled.
Youngster Richard James (9) then joined Hurst to take the score to 64 for two before James was bowled and Colin Oliivant (1) then soon followed.
Huw Griffiths hit a quick fire 27 before being bowled and Richard Davies (0) was LBW.
Guy Williams, back in Bont colours after a few year’s absence produced an important partnership of 93 runs to take the Bont past the magic 300 runs total.
Carl Lewis (45) was caught to leave Williams not out with his brilliant century containing16 fours and four sixes.
In reply Huw Griffiths (1-30-10) had M. Hargreves bowled and Lewis Deacon (5-51-10) got amongst the wickets.
Opening batsman Tom Williams (76) was caught by Richard James and wickets then fell quickly with ducks aplenty.
The Bont now look forward to a home fixture against fourth placed Herefordians.
