Abergavenny Cricket Club senior training commences on Tuesday April 5 at the Avenue Road Cricket Ground. Training will be held throughout the summer commencing from 6pm each evening with club coach Geraint Leach leading each session.

Geraint is an ECB performance coach, Abergavenny CC head coach, community cricket coach for Cricket Wales and Gwent U12 & U13 regional coach.

Geraint was on occasions grateful for the input of Glamorgan Legend Michael Powell who has attended and offered advice and coaching to the players, which has been of tremendous value.

Leach is also the newly appointed first team captain, Gareth Powell is continuing as the second team skipper and Mark Winstanley is returning from injury to lead the third team. Some tough pre season matches have been arranged ahead of the league campaign against Wormelow, Aberdare, Cheltenham Civil Service, Swansea and Brockhampton. Some Sunday friendlies will be played and a newly formed Under 19 team has been entered into a league.

The club will be again entering youth teams at Under 9s, 11s, 13s and 15s with Junior training starting on Friday April 8 at the ground from 6pm onwards.
