Avenue Road dusts off its whites and prepares for new season

ABERGAVENNY Cricket Club play their first pre-season fixtures this weekend.

The Beavers welcome Herefordshire based club Wormelow firstly on Saturday with a 40 over a side contest starting at 1pm.

The next day Cheltenham Civil Service will be the visitors to Avenue Road in a 45 over match commencing at 1.30 pm.

Aber have been boosted over the winter by adding ex-Glamorgan county cricketer Adam Harrison to their ranks.

He joins the club from Panteg CC in a player/coach capacity and Gareth Burkitt also joins the club from Ponthir CC.

Senior training is held every Tuesday at the ground from 6pm with old and new players of all abilities welcome. Youth night is every Friday evening from 6pm until 7.45pm, catering for boys and girls aged seven to 15.
