Abergavenny Squash Club’s ‘C’ team resumed its match programme after a week’s rest by beating Abertillery comfortably, 4-1.
Both Mitchell Lawrence and Lee Nightingall won important matches, and maintained their push for promotion. The team now sits in third place, with the crunch match against the side just above them coming next week. Whoever wins this will almost certainly be promoted!

The ‘E’ team played very well against the top side, Monmouth ‘C’, only losing by three matches to two. Both Lee Nightingall and Dean Jackson-Johns had good victories. However, the team drop to third place.

The ‘D’ team beat the bottom side, Monmouth ‘D’ by three matches to two. The highlight of the night was the first match played by newcomer Jack Peach, who won his first match comfortably, looking very accomplished! The team moves up one place to second.

The ‘B’ team, decimated by injury and illness, lost again by four matches to one against Cardiff ‘B’, and now look doomed to relegation. Ed Leakey came into the side for his first match for over six months, and performed very well, so things look promising for next season.

On the same night, the ‘A’ team trounced the bottom side, Llantrisant ‘ A’5-0, with only Jethro Binns having to work hard to win, coming from 2-0 down. The team remain in seventh place, and have some tough matches coming if they are to stay up.
