Abertillery C - 35

ABERGAVENNY 'B' made a huge effort in their recent match against Abertillery 'C'. 

Passing was more accurate and quicker than in previous games and Kath Butt dictated a swift pace as Centre. 

The Abergavenny defence of GK Claire Powell and GD Amanda Leaker (captain) assisted by WD Joanna Box proved to be successful in gaining possession and achieved some good interceptions. 

However, Abertillery shooters were extremely accurate and Abergavenny trailed 11 - 14 at half time. 

Abergavenny made quite a few team changes and Cally O'Hara came on as WD in her final game for the club prior to a career move to Manchester. 

Also, Becky Pritchard moved to Centre position and Kath Butt out to shoot. 

The home side fought hard to take control of the game and levelled the game at 16 all.  Unfortunately, Abergavenny were unable to sustain this effort and the accuracy of their opposition's shooting led to them trailing 20 -28 after three quarters. 

Abergavenny tried to narrow the gap in the final quarter but sadly it was not to be.

Player of the match was GS Hannah Morgan who recently got engaged, The club would like to say congratulations and well done! Abergavenny would also like to say a big thank you to Cally O'Hara for her commitment to the team and wish her the best of luck in Manchester!
