ELVIS (aka Keith Davies) and his Memphis Mafia were back on the stage of the Borough Theatre on Saturday night for the Mayor of Abergavenny's Charity Concert.
Gareth Ritter and his Big Band Sound were the first on stage to entertain the audience, this was then followed by a performance by Fascinating Rhythm, a ladies barbershop chorus from Bristol.
Abergavenny's Gareth Davies sang two songs including the famous Nessun Dorma, he was followed by Abercappella Community Choir who got the audience clapping and singing with songs from around the world.
Mayor John Prosser compered the proceedings and at one stage described the detail on the Town Coat of Arms with the aid of two belly dancers holding the town flag.
During the interval two cheque presentations were made to the Mayor's Charity Fund. The first being from the Abergavenny Rotary Club, whose president Martin Love presented the Mayor with £250, while Trevor Turner MBE presented him with a cheque for £500 raised from theatre visits organized by himself and his wife Peggy.
The second half was started by the Hypno Mystiqu Belly Dancers which was followed by a special presentation made by the famous international toastmaster Harry Poloway MBE BEM.
Harry presented his own button compass, used by fighter pilots during the Second World War, to the Mayor's Cadet whom he had met during the Mayor's Charity Dinner.
The second half continued with good harmony from Synergy, a male barbershop chorus from Abergavenny followed by solos from soprano Christine Veitch who then sang a duet with Gareth Davies.
The evening ending with Elvis with his Memphis Mafia who yet again thrilled the audience with his Elvis renditions, with backing vocals from the Mayor during Burning Love.
Mayor Councillor John Prosser said, "Overall I consider the variety concert a fantastic success raising hundreds of pounds for my nominated charities. Many thanks to all the performers and volunteers for helping me to stage the show and to the public who attended."
