TWO sources of anti-social behaviour problems in Abergavenny town centre have been resolved by police.
In one case it emerged undesirable elements had attached themselves to a vulnerable woman with mental health issues in the Town Hall area.
The ‘mate crime’ issue was dealt with after the so-called friends of the woman were evicted from her rented flat - which has since been boarded up.
The woman, who cannot be identified, has been admitted to hospital.
Some of the complex issues surrounding the matter were outlined by Abergavenny’s police commander Huw Jones at the monthly meeting of the town council.
He told members it had taken three months to sort out the problems linked to the property.
One particular individual was now being dealt with by Dyfed Powys Police.
Insp Jones also revealed that another property in Frogmore Street had also proved troublesome with police receiving 25 calls a week about the address.
He said the private landlord had responded to concerns - and one tenant was due to be evicted this week.
