WELL it’s one for the money - more than £350,000 in fact. That’s how much Abergavenny’s own Elvis has raised for charity performing over 200 concerts - a feat that has earned him a place in the town’s hall of fame.

Keith Davies was all shook up on hearing of his accolade but having seen the plaque on the honours board in the Town Hall he just can’t help believing his efforts have been given civic recognition.

Keith performs about a dozen times a year throughout the UK and with fundraising always on his mind he has taken his show across Europe and even as far as The King’s own backyard in Memphis.

When not in the rhinestone jump suit, Keith runs his own electrical business, Abergavenny Electrics, employing five technicians.

And whether you are looking forward to a blue Christmas or a white one, Keith will be performing his regular seasonal show at the Borough Theatre in December, tickets are on sale soon. For anyone with suspicious minds, all proceeds will, as usual, be going to charity.

‘I would like to hit the half a million pound mark - there’s a good few years in me yet,’ Keith told the Chronicle, adding, ‘I would also like to thank the Abergavenny Town Council in particular councillor David Simcock who actually got up on stage and sang with the Abergavenny King.’
