THE new toilet block at Abergavenny's Brewery Yard has been closed 'intermittently' for two weeks as Welsh Water carry out work to clear a blocked pipe.

A huge blockage in the main sewer led to Welsh Water closing the road over night (Tuesday) to investigate further.

In the meantime, the toilets in the Market Hall have been reopened ensuring there is a toilet within the vicinity.

A spokesperson for Monmouthshire County Council said, "This is outside of Monmouthshire County Council control but our officers have been liaising with Welsh Water."
