A FORMER RAF Warrant officer is trying to trace the relatives of a crewmember from Blaenavon who died in a plane crash in 1943. Neil Trotter witnessed a Lancaster aircraft crashing into the field behind his house in village of Scredington, in Lincolnshire as a schoolboy on July 2, 1943 and having served in the RAF he is now hoping to install a memorial to the nine airmen who perished in the crash – including Corporal Thomas John Bond, the son of Thomas and Alice Bond of Forge Side, Blaenavon.

If you have any information to help with the planned memorial in July this year to contact Mr Trotter on 01472 233919 or email [email protected]">[email protected].
