The team at the Raglan Arms scooped a prestigious award recently in recognition of their reputation as the county’s best.

Awarded the Welsh Enterprise Award’s Best Country Restaurant & Pub 2018 — Monmouthshire, Judith at the Raglan Arms said the win was tantamount to the staff’s commitment to excellent food and service. ??Judith and husband William took over the Raglan Arms after leaving the Isle of Skye over three years ago, and have worked tirelessly to keep the standards high — the renowned pub and restaurant features in the prestigious Michelin Red Book. ??“The Raglan Arms was awarded the AA Rosette back in 2006. We have worked hard to continue along that same vein,” said Judith. ??But Judith insists that the award is the culmination of a true team effort, with the staff of just eight banding together to deliver a consistently high standard.

“It is a real team effort. We all work very hard to deliver good service of high quality food whilst being friendly and accommodating.” ??Head Chef, Peter Hallsman, trained in Germany, and strives to make everything fresh — including the bread and butter.

Judith said she would like to thank all the customers and staff who made the award possible — “this would not be possible without both sides coming together,” she added.
