Priory Singers set to Light up the Borough Theatre

Newport-based choir the Priory Singers are showing off their 'Lighter Side' at Abergavenny's Borough Theatre on March 12th at 7.30 pm.

Named after the Priory hotel in Caerleon, the Priory Singers were formed in 1999 and have built an enviable reputation for performances of classical works including Mozart's Requiem and Handel's Messiah. The choir has also collected an eclectic repertoire of well-loved songs from stage and screen, forming the basis for Lighter Side concerts which have captivated Newport audiences in recent years. They are delighted to bring the concert to a new audience in Abergavenny.

The Priory Singers will be joined by accomplished professionals Stephanie Benavente and Christian Jon Billett. These friends of the choir will add their own favourites to the programme, which features songs from Les Miserables, Chess, The Lion King, West Side Story and the musicals of Rodgers and Hammerstein, together with popular songs by Billy Joel and Barry Manilow - and more!

The Lighter Side is guaranteed to be an evening filled with fun and great music. Tickets are available from the Borough Theatre box office, telephone 01873 850805. You can find out more about the Priory Singers on their website, http://www.priorysingers.org">www.priorysingers.org.
