An exciting programme of entertainment, sport and activity with worldwide link ups will keep thousands of people entertained as they await the arrival of the Olympic Torch to Wales on Friday, May 25.
The Torch will enter Wales through Monmouth, before moving on to Raglan and then Abergavenny
A spokesperson said, "On behalf of the whole county we're particularly proud that the Torch will enter Wales through Monmouthshire.
"As well as the logistical preparations for the torch – including road closures, crowd barriers, lavatories, community safety and entertainment – we've been working hard with our businesses.
"We've held meetings to explain what will be happening on the day and how they can take advantage of the extraordinary legacy that this once in a lifetime event will bring to Monmouthshire.
"We've also worked closely with our schools and leisure centres. There's been a huge amount of activity to celebrate the torch coming to Monmouthshire – including an Olympic sports day event in Cardiff and a visit to the Olympic Park itself by some of our school pupils.
" In addition our libraries have run a series of events".
The thousands of people expected to greet the Torch in person can stay up to date with what's happening via Twitter. They can follow the council - @monmouthshirecc – and also get involved in wider conversations on what's happening by using the hashtag #mon2012.
The council has also produced a souvenir programme giving details on how to see the Torch as well as a range of other interesting information. It can be purchased for £1 from local venues including the Abergavenny Chronicle office, and the town's museum, and leisure centre.
Outside the town, the guide is available at outlets including Gilwern outdoor education centre and Usk Library
