MOUNTING protest over proposed gas and oil exploration and production in special areas of conservation in Cardigan Bay and off Strumble Head spilt onto the streets of Aberystwyth on Saturday. About 100 people, including Aberystwyth's mayor and deputy mayor, from through-out mid and west Wales marched through the town carrying placards reading 'Oil and dol-phins don't mix' and 'Stop oil rigs now' in a demonstration organised by the SOS Save Our Sea campaign. Speakers at a rally in Sgwâr Glyndwr included MP Mark Williams MP who said that, despite requests he had made, the Government was refusing to talk to SOS. Pictured above are some of the protesters who marched on the streets of Aberystwyth last weekend.
