THE local heat of Rotary Young Chef competition was a smash hit at Abergavenny’s Food Festival on Saturday morning.
Under the watchful eye of celebrity judge Jose Pizzaro, Nagham Sweida and Lydia Harris cooked a three course meal for less than £15. In the end it was Nagham who narrowly scraped the win, with just two points between the two girls.
Jose praised the girls for their versatility and dedication, stating, ‘We should encourage this and make cooking and food preparation available to more people of this age. They are the great chefs of the future.’
Nagham will represent Abergavenny Rotary and King Henry School in the next area round, then South Wales and eventually hopefully the UK National.
