MASKED raiders attempted to steal a cash machine from a premises in Usk overnight between Thursday September 13 and Friday September 14. Gwent police said that the raiders had used a stolen car. A blue Skoda Octavia, registration number CE06 WCX was stolen from a Rogiet address between after 11.30pm on Thursday September 13 and was then used at 4am in the burglary at the One Stop general stores in Usk.

Four offenders wearing masks broke into the shop and attempted to steal the ATM machine, which is emptied each evening, before leaving the scene in the same vehicle. The vehicle was subsequently recovered in the Caldicot area. Police are appealing for information on the attempted break-in.
