A 54-YEAR old man from Llandrindod Wells was found in a seriously injured condition on the railway line at Abergavenny on Tuesday April 24.

British Transport Police said that they were alerted to the incident at 9.55pm. The injured man was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital by ambulance in Abergavenny where he remains in a critical condition.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said that his injuries were consistent with having been struck by a train.

He added that a driver of freight train initially reported the incident but he understood that it was not this train struck that had struck the man.
