Abergavenny based race team SMG Motorsport is celebrating having been honored with the ‘Best Prepared Car’ award at the recent Dunlop MINI SE7EN awards ceremony.

SMG prepared two cars for the 2016 Dunlop MINI SE7EN Championship. These cars, driven by two Monmouthshire based racing drivers, Ashley Davies and Leon Window, went on to secure first place in the National Championship and Novice Championship respectively.

This fantastic on track achievement was backed up by the Best Prepared Car award, for Leon Window’s car, as voted for by fellow club members.

Commenting on the award, Leon Window, sales director for Select Security, said, “A lot of hard work went into the build, and it’s very nice for SMG to have some recognition for it. I would like to say thank you very much to #TeamSMG for building a beautiful racecar and keeping it that way all season!”

A spokesman for SMG went on to say, “We really could not have asked for a better 2016, and we look forward to showcasing both cars throughout the coming season.”
