A heartfelt local girl has raised hundreds of pounds after having her long locks cut in aid of those suffering with cancer.
Maisie Thomas, 7, had a massive 30cm of hair taken off after telling her mum, Leanne, that she wanted to ‘make a stand against cancer’.
“She was so touched by a story on Children in Need that she wanted to help children undergoing cancer treatment,” said Mum.
The Little Princess Trust was launched in 2006 by the parents of Hannah Tarplee.
Sadly, she was diagnosed with having a Wilms tumour and after a brave battle, died in 2005.
The Trust has helped thousands of children since its founding, recently extending its mission for research into childhood cancer, and minimising the harsh effects of chemotherapy on children.
Little Maisie has already raised a huge £502 for the cause. Further donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Leanne-Thomas11. ??The haircut was kindly donated by Sue Thomas at Sue’s Salon, Abergavenny. ??Friends and family have been so generous with donations and we couldn’t be prouder of her,” added Leanne. ?
