Every year a small team of fundraisers and volunteers make a huge difference at Nevill Hall Hospital.

This year the hospital will benefit to the tune of more than £90,000 from funds raised by the League of Friends.

Among other things funding from the Friends has gone towards setting up a sleep apnea clinic with a psychologist for a year; specialist equipment for the oral surgery department; a new blood pressure machine for gynaecology and a drink dispenser for outpatients.

Most of the money is raised through the Coffee Shop in the outpatients’ department. The Friends also provide a book-lending service that visits the wards.

At a presentation last week in the Conference Centre, the Friends were thanked by Dr Foo (Oral Surgeon), Mr Thomas (Sleep disorders and Sleep Apnea), Senior Nurse Tracey Roberts (EAU), Mrs Karen Williams (Senior Nurse Outpatients) and Mrs Carol Hadfield (Obstetrics and Gynaecology).

To keep up the good work, the Friends would welcome support from new members.

All that’s required is one two-hour shift once a month - although further help would be gratefully received!
