Sick and tired of catching that ‘Mystery Train’ to nowhere, Abergavenny’s very own Elvis AKA Keith Davies has decided to ‘Follow That Dream’ to the ‘Promised Land’ by going electric and taking to the road in a brand new scooter.

Now while you may associate the King of rock n’ roll more with the mighty roar of a Harley Davidson, as opposed to the modern purr of a fossil fuel free scooter, you gotta move with the times, and as someone with a deep and abiding respect for his Mamma……Earth, the head honcho over at Abergavenny Electrics jumped at the chance to go green in style and do his bit for the environment.

The King purchased his all electric scooter from Abergavenny firm Workhouse Scooters.

The owner of the Hatherleigh Place based company, Chris Mcarthy, explained, “I couldn’t believe it when I received a call from the Abergavenny Elvis asking if he could order an electric scoter in metallic red as soon as possible. You might say I was ‘All Shook Up!’

Chris added, “But of course, when the King orders something you do it don’t you….”

Keith Davies collected his ride on St. David’s Day from the sales office and was out and about on the streets of Aber, quoting jobs and meeting up with his customers on his little red runaround.

Keith told the Chronicle, “The bike is a wonderful addition to the collection. No road tax, no fuel cost, and environmentally friendly and energy efficient to boot! What’s not to like?”

Keith added, “The bike will do approximately 70 miles on a full five hour charge. It also rides like a dream. I would definitely recommend getting one. You won’t be disappointed.

“The boys at Workhouse Scooters were very professional and were extremely efficient in delivering the bike and providing a quality back-up service.

“I’m looking forward now to the better weather so I can get out and about and see the sights and sounds of the modern world in style.”
