GOVILON begin their campaign in Division One of the Gwent County League next Wednesday night with a home fixture against local rivals Blaenavon Blues (ko 6.30pm).
During the summer break the club has made eight significant signings with goalkeepers Sam Morris and Craig Williams joining from Tranch and Cwmfrwddoer respectively, Mardy pair Stephen Smith and Aaron Davies, Abergavenny Thursdays pair Leon Gilchrist and Ben Bannon and former Croesyceiliog defender Mark Wharton. Michael Davies has also rejoined the Club from Pontypool Town.
Club Chairman Rob Francis said, We have been going at full pelt during the close season with manager Stephen Morgan working tremendously hard to strengthen our squad.
We are delighted to welcome these players, all of whom give us many more options than we had last season. I am sure the future is very bright for our Club, and everyone is eagerly awaiting kick off.
