WHEN Arthur Morgan was born, the dance floors were full of ragtimers and turkey-trotters; no one had yet danced the Charleston and the Lindy Hop and Jitterbug were far in the future.

But 100 years on, Arthur is still a regular at Gilwern Dancing Club where a celebration was held this month to mark his milestone.

Abersychan-born Arthur still lived alone until very recently. It is only in the last few months that he has moved in with daughter, Jan Haycock in Crickhowell.

However, he is still a keen walker and looks forward to his weekly visit to the dancing club where, despite having given up the more energetic moves, he still has an ear for the music.
