Tredunnock Village near Usk has received a cheque for £820 from Abergavenny and District Round Table. The cheque was presented at a social evening in the village by Mr Chris Brewer, immediate Past Chairman of the Round Table and Mr Matt Lane, Vice Chairman.

The Defibrillator, which can provide a life- saving first response in the event of cardiac arrest, will be located behind the lych gate of St Andrew’s Church in the centre of Tredunnock later this year.

Local fundraising, including a contribution from Llanhennock Community Council, means that the village is already able to obtain an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) from the British Heart Foundation but this latest gift will fund a heated cabinet for the equipment and training for local people.

Abergavenny and District Round Table has enabled a number of rural villages to fund this essential equipment so that first aid can start before the arrival of health professionals.

Tredunnock is a small rural community between Usk and Caerleon. It does receive regular visitors to St Andrews Church and to a number of local businesses. It is also on the Velothon Wales route and cyclists of various ages and levels of fitness use the road through the village.
