Goytre Fawr Primary, Bronze Ambassadors Oliver Edwards and Hannah Price set their whole school challenge to get ‘active’ over the Christmas break. Over 30,000 hours of physical activity were recorded by children, staff and governors! The whole school community took on the challenge, pupils, governors and teachers recorded their activities from long walks, ice skating, basketball and football in the garden instead of board games to indoor climbing and family bike rides.

Parents, teachers and governors took to Twitter to document the challenge set by Year 6 pupils Oliver and Hannah. Many posted photos of long family walks in the beautiful countryside, rain didn’t hinder activity, some took soggy walks to feed the ducks and even a few star jumps before breakfast to display many innovative activities the whole school community were involved in a bid to get active over the festive period.

To mark their fantastic achievement pupils were awarded certificates in an assembly by Paul Sullivan of Monmouthshire Sports Development Team.
