Cwmaman Institute - 0
Goytre - 2
GOYTRE maintained their excellent away form on the weekend with a comfortable win over Cwmaman Institute.
For the first 20 minutes both sides cancelled each other out with Kevin wallace and Matthew Cameron showing some deft touches in midfield.
Goytre created the first chance when Graham Mason made a storming run into the penalty area, beating two home defenders, before unselfishly passing to Jamie Wilkins.
From ten yards out, Wilkins had only the keeper to beat, but his shot went crashing over the top.
A few minutes later, and another chance went begging, when, after a succession of corners, a well placed Lee Wadden headed over the bar.
With only minutes to half-time, Jamie Wilkins broke clear on the right, and his hard and low cross caused havoc in the home defence, and but for a great save by their keeper, Cwmaman would have scored an own goal.
The second-half was ten minutes old when Goytre took the lead. Fine build-up play by Adam Roberts and Simon Ritter set-up a chance for Mason, whose shot was parried away by the Cwmaman keeper, only for Mark Jones to blast the loose ball into the top of the net.
Shortly after Goytre increased their lead, when after sustained pressure, Mason weaved his magic inside the penalty area before placing his shot wide of the keeper and into the net.
Goytre closed up shop for the rest of the game and cruised to a comfortable win.
Gotyre's next encounter in Welsh League Division Three will see them pit their wits against Porthcawl Town this Saturday.
