Rudolph has landed in Abergavenny town centre - some five weeks ahead of Christmas!

The giant reindeer, complete with saddle for youngsters to climb up on, flew into Nevill Street last week and made himself comfortable outside the post office.

Rumour had it that he was moonlighting by helping deliver the town’s Christmas mail overnight.

But Abergavenny Town Council have admitted to having something to do with Rudolph’s residence in the town, saying he’s dropped in to help entice Christmas shoppers.

Town children have been flocking to have their pictures taken on Rudolph and he’s also been turning the heads of the town’s adults.

A council spokesperson said last week: “We consulted the businesses around St Johns Square and Nevill Street to see how we could enhance the area for Christmas.

“It was discussed that we install a Christmas feature for children, and decided upon a reindeer.
