A FOOD initiative is set to open in Abergavenny early next year. The food bank gives food parcels to those in need and who have no other means of getting sustenance.

The project will be run by volunteers from the Cornerstone Evangelical Church, which is based at Deri View Primary School.
The initiative operates out of the church's offices in Lion Street and works by exchanging food vouchers given to needy people by local agencies which then can be exchanged for parcels containing dried and tinned foods.
The project in Abergavenny will be the 16th in the Welsh network overseen by Trussell Trust.
