With the title ‘A Time to Remember’, St Teilo’s Church, Llantilio Pertholey will be holding its first flower festival this spring in over 23 years.
Plans for the festival, which will be staged between April 30 and May 2, with a preview evening on April 29, are already well underway.
The focus of the event will be on all those who suffer during periods of conflict (civilian and military).
One of the organisers said, “We have been delighted with the response for arrangements at the festival, with participants including Hilary’s Floral Design, Llantilio Pertholey Women’s Institute, Abergavenny Floral Society and Llantilio Pertholey Village Produce Association as well as representatives from the congregations at St Teilo’s, Bettws Chapel and St David’s, Llanddewi Skirrid.”
Proceeds from the festival will go towards a new Chapel of Remembrance that is being planned for the churchyard to replace a derelict stone shed.
