THE 44 year old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal road traffic collision on the A40 that occurred on Saturday, July 20 has been released on police bail pending further enquiries

The road traffic collision, involving two vehicles- a silver Ford KA and a silver VW Golf - resulted in the death of 78 year old David Marshall from Crickhowell.

The two vehicles were travelling in the same direction between Raglan and Abergavenny at approximately 9.30pm.

Mr Marshall was the driver of the silver KA. The female passenger of his car is currently in the Nevill Hall Hospital in a serious condition.

Police are appealing for the driver of a van - believed to be a Ford Transit or similar - which was travelling in the same direction when the collision occured, to come forward.
