Abergavenny’s most recent famous resident will be taking to the stage at The Angel Hotel as part of the lineup for the Abergavenny Food Festival this year as he takes a deep dive on his journey from TV presenter to master of spirits.
Richard Hammond will be at Ballroom inside one of the town’s most prestigious venues on Sunday September 20 and tickets are on sale now. The conversation will be hosted by the Welsh broadcaster, Steve Jones, as he sits down the ‘the hamster’ to talk about his global food adventures from trips around the world on Top Gear and The Grand Tour.
In more recent years, he has branched out to start making one of his favourite tipples for himself. Gin! His Ratio London Dry Gin is one of his latest ventures and sees him branch into similar areas to his former TV colleagues. James May has also launched his own gin while Jeremy Clarkson - a figure some locals ‘feared’ would follow Hammond over the border - now has his own lager and cider.
He’ll be bringing that and stories that last a lifetime to Abergavenny this September! From unforgettable road trips and remarkable meals in between, it is safe to say Richard’s travels have helped him discover some of the best places, flavours and people the world has to offer.
As part of the conversation, Richard will reflect on the food experiences that shaped these experiences and how they have inspired his ventures closer to home in more recent years.
Everyone in the room can expect entertaining stories from a life on the road and lots of insight from one of the country’s most recognisable TV personalities. Tickets for a lively discussion about travel, craftsmanship and the pleasure of great food and drink are on sale now! Head to the Abergavenny Food Festival website.
