CYCLISTS in Crickhowell now have somewhere to secure their bikes while they have a look around the town.
The Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre (CRiC) has been successful in securing funding from PAVO's 'Can Do Communities' grant to purchase items associated with access and accessibility to improve and enhance their experience of using the facilities within CRiC.
Centre manager, Jan Morgan said, "The Can Do Communities grant has allowed us to purchase bike stands that have been located outside the front of the centre so that cyclists coming to Crickhowell can safely leave their bicycles outside the centre whilst they enjoy the amenities of the town."
The grant has also enabled the centre to acquire systems which will benefit various users and volunteers of the centre and enable them to participate more fully where they may previously have felt disadvantaged. An infra-red hearing loop system for use in the conference room during meetings and training sessions and a portable information loop system for use by people with hearing aids has been set up at the reception desk. Users of the public computers and the training laptops will be able to use the computer peripherals such as high contrast keyboards.
The Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre is open daily and offers tourist information, computer and WiFi access, a small coffee bar, an art gallery and room hire.
